Emily Teng is a college student in Singapore and radio DJ with 987fm (www.987fm.sg)
Internationally schooled at British International School, Jakarta, Australian International School
Singapore, Tanglin Trust Singapore and Methodist Ladies' College, Melbourne  cultivated a
strong
sense of culture and community
in her life.

It was in Australia where the determined and strong-willed Emily realised her passion in community
service and helping others who were in need.  While others her age complained about the
mandatory  volunteer work needed in order to complete a class, Emily found joy in looking after both
the children and elderly within the community.  It was within the four walls of a middle school
classroom where she was exposed to the
impoverished lives millions of people were going through in
other countries.

She has volunteered her time to  many community-oriented projects and tasks such as  fund-raising
while attending high school, working at hospitals, the Singapore Children's Society, Child-care centres,
Homes for the Elderly, just to name a few!

Fast forward six years later and Emily still has a
passion, maybe even more so, for community efforts
and has since set up
'Blessings in a Bag'.  She hopes that this project will increase volunteerism and
community spirit  amongst the community within Singapore, especially youths.

She hopes to
make a difference in the World, one child at a time.
